Our Story
We’re a team of dedicated Student Support Workers, qualified health professionals, and experienced independent support workers.
Our founder, Ida is a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of nursing experience. For the last 10 years, she has lived with an acquired brain injury (ABI) following a massive stroke. Ida was able to resume walking, talking, and using her hands to complete her daily tasks with the help of many Allied Health professionals and support workers. During her rehabilitation months in hospital, her young daughter Jess gravitated to and fell in love with the kind, caring, friendly and lovable Occupational Therapists (OT) that cared for her mother. Jess has wanted to be an OT ever since, and is now a qualified Occupational Therapists too.
Compassionate Care Network (CCN) was launched in April 2020. Ida began by providing her own Support Work, but as the need for her services grew, Ida enlisted the help of her daughter and her OT student friends. From there, we have added Nursing, Physiotherapist and Speech Therapy to our team.
Why choose Allied Health Students as Support Workers or Therapy Assistants?
Our students are young (mostly!), vibrant, compassionate, and passionate about delivering effective care. They can provide companionship and mentorship to older people and those with disabilities, while also applying what they’ve learned through their studies to their work. Whether it’s nursing care, assisting with ADLs, aged care and disability support services or implementing OT and physiotherapy plans, our team is here to support you with energy and enthusiasm.
